The society meets nine times a year for an exchange of ideas and discussion between people engaged in the field of psychotherapy. Its purpose is to promote the study, practice and teaching of psychotherapy; and to offer an opportunity for therapists in the Oxford region to gather socially. The society publishes a bulletin twice a year.
Members pay an annual subscription fee for these services, which is currently £40.
Membership of the Society is open to anyone who either has a relevant clinical qualification and is engaged in counselling or psychotherapy; or is a member or student of a recognised counselling or psychotherapy organisation; or can demonstrate a committed interest in the theory and practice of psychotherapy.
The Society is not an accrediting body and membership should not be quoted as if it were an endorsement of professional competence or training.
